Gameweek Miami: They're Baaaack!

September 20, 2010

This Thursday, our former conference foes are returning to the site of their final Big East conference game.

The Miami Hurricanes….ahh yes, we remember them well.

It was a cold day, late November of 2003, a night game, with the Big East title on the line. It would be Larry Fitzgerald’s final game at home.  Unfortunately, like so many other nationally televised big games under Walt Harris, it did not end well.  Shortly after, Miami bolted from the Big East to the ACC.  Here is a Q&A with Miami President Donna Shalala as to why.

Now seven years later, the Canes are playing their first game against any of their old Big East opponents…and we are going to start off Gameweek by simply saying this…

And as always, the sign we made “famous” locally
